Samuel Atta Akyea Chased Out By Constituents Over Failed Promises…FALSE! – Aide Debunks Reports | Politics

Published

on

The office of the Member of Parliament for Akim Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea has debunked reports that he was chased out by his constituents during a polling station elections in the constituency.

A video surfaced online showing the constituents hooting at MP over claims that he hasn’t fulfilled his campaign promises to them.

The residents followed him amidst shouts and comments on his abysmal performance as Hon. Atta Akyea walked to his vehicle and sped off from their sight.

However, the MP’s aide, Gideon Annor Kwasi, in a statement copied to Peacefmonline, has set the records straight.

”The fraud of the circulating video is that it is unrelated to failed promises of the MP regarding road  infrastructure in the Nkronso township. On the contrary, it is one Frazer Ofori-Atta, an indigene of  Nkronso, who is in the pocket of Kingsley Agyemang of the Scholarship Secretariat, who, for the past five (5) years, has evinced a clear intention to unseat Honourable Atta Akyea, who had worked the young people of Nkronso into a frenzy to disrupt the polling station elections.

”The fact remains that, on the 5th of March, 2022, the Abuakwa South Elections Committee chaired  by Mr. Adamu Musa Raha and seven others made their way to Nkronso to conduct polling station elections for the six polling stations as with other electoral areas within the Constituency. It  appeared that, some persons who had picked up forms and had been duly approved by the Election Committee to contest the elections did not accept the fact that others without prior approval would want to be in the contest.

”This disagreement orchestrated by Frazer Ofori-Atta threatened the intended elections whose  rollout was barely starting. Regrettably, the avoidable tension was mounting. Confronted with a serious security situation, the Committee was advised by the police escort led  by the Divisional Commander to halt all activities and move to another electoral area for elections  to take place since the grounds at Nkronso was not favourable for democratic elections. The  Committee heeded the security advice and left Nkronso in the midst of hooting from the Frazer group”, parts of the statement read.

NPP Regional Elections: Check Yourselves First – Nana Akomea Schools Aspirants On How To Avoid Shock | Politics

Published

on

State Transport Corporation (STC) Managing Director, Nana Akomea, has sent a word of advice to the Regional executive aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the party’s regional elections on Saturday, 28th May, 2022.

Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” programme, Nana Akomea, an experienced politician who’s held various positions in government, from being a Member of Parliament, Deputy Tourism Minister to Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, advised the aspirants to weigh their chances, whether or not they will win the elections, before they take a leap.

To him, some candidates blatantly go into elections without assessing themselves, hence their electoral fortunes resulting in a fiasco.

Defusing the mantra “Fear Delegates”, to wit one cannot entirely trust delegates because some will sycophantically support the candidates but vote against them during the elections, Nana Akomea believed the aspirants will have no need to fear the delegates if they do their homework well.

” . . find a way to do research. It’s on the basis of that research and when you have carried yourself that you can take a decision on whether to go for the elections or not,” he stated.

Nana Akomea, who is a four-time Parliamentarian representing his constituency, Okaikwei South from 1997 to 2013, showed the aspirants how he was able to win elections almost at ease.

“If you are standing for elections at whatever level, you must carry yourself. That’s the first thing you do. It’s when you don’t carry yourself that you will fear delegates,” he urged.

on

Head of Linguistics at the University of Ghana, Professor Kofi Agyekum, popularly called ‘Opanyin Agyekum’, has called for a peaceful and violent-free Regional elections by the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The NPP will on Saturday, May 28, 2022 hold Regional elections to elect their Regional executives.

The Regional elections will be followed by National Executives elections in July, then the party will later go to primaries to elect a Presidential candidate ahead of the 2024 general elections.

As the party preps to hold its Regional elections, Opanyin Agyekum sends his well-wishes to the various aspirants but warns that the elections should not end up in violent confrontations.

According to him, it will leave a dent on the image of the party should some persons be harmed during and after the elections.

“What I don’t want to hear is that, by the end of the elections on Saturday, there will be reports of people hacking others with a knife or someone being harmed . . . you must let truth prevail so as the loser will accept his/her loss and the winner will know he/she won,” he said during Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo”.
