Hearts of Oak’s newly signed defender, Samuel Inkoom has encouraged  Ghanaian professional footballers to come back to their roots to relaunch their careers when things seem not to go well.

The former Sekondi Hasaacas player recently signed for Ghana premier league champion, Accra Hearts of Oak on a one year deal.

The 32-year-old has had stints with top clubs in Europe, having played for FC Basel, DC United, Dnipro, etc. He is one of the few Ghanaian players who have returned to the Local League in the past two years.

And speaking to Starr Sports, Inkoom wants players who ply their trades in Europe to come back home when  their careers take a nosedive.

” I always say something to a lot of players to come back to where you started, don’t feel shy. I played Ghana League before I travelled. Is it the same Ghana league that gave me the platform so when you are coming back, why do you have to feel shy?” he quizzed.

“I was in Georgia, I just finished my contract in December last year and I am back home and I said I want to play Ghana league. I am also coming to the league to motivate the young ones and encourage them that if they play well, they can also get themselves somewhere,” he told Untoldstories TV Gh.

Samuel Inkoom has so far featured in two games for Hearts of Oak. The first game was a league match against his former team, Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports stadium where his side lost by a lone goal, with the last game being against Skyy FC in the quarter-final of the MTN FA Cup.

Gyan believes Mr. Okraku has has ‘done an incredible job’ for Ghana football, utilising his experience gathered as a football administrator.

GFA Bans Coach Aboagye And Kotoko’s Lamptey Over Match-Fixing Scandal | Football/Soccer

The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sanctioned Felix Aboagye, the Head Coach of Inter Allies Football Club and former player Richmond Lamptey following a match-fixing scandal.

The GFA Disciplinary Committee found Inter Allies and AshantiGold guilty of match-fixing before and during a match-day 34 encounter of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League (GPL).

The match resulted in a 7-0 win for AshantiGold under bizarre circumstances.

A ruling sighted by GNA Sports saw Coach Aboagy handed a two-year ban and would not participate in any football-related activity during that period.

“That the Coach Felix Aboagye is banned from taking part in any football-related activity for a period of 24 months in accordance with Article 34.5(d)(i) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations.

“That the Team Manager of Inter Allies, FC Reuben Adjetey is banned from taking part in any football-related activity for a period of 24 months in accordance with Article 34.5(d)(i)of the Ghana Premier League Regulations,” Excerpts of the ruling said.

It also said former Inter Allies player, Richmond Lamptey, who now plays for Asante Kotoko was to serve a two- and half-year ban.

The ban is supposed to begin next season as the Ghana Football Association seeks to take further effect for the ban to take effect.

“This decision shall be communicated to FIFA to be given international application in accordance with the GFA Disciplinary Code and FIFA Disciplinary Code considering that a number of players are now playing in clubs outside the jurisdiction of the Ghana Football Association.”
